Living in Gold Beach
Discover Gold Beach, Oregon — Where the Rogue River Meets the Sea
Gold Beach (pop. ∼2,200) sits at the mouth of the legendary Rogue River in Curry County, 30 miles north of the California border. Named for the placer gold found in its beach sands by 1850s prospectors, Gold Beach is defined by its position at the confluence of one of America’s most storied rivers and the Pacific Ocean.
The Rogue River — a National Wild & Scenic River — offers world-class salmon and steelhead fishing, white-water jet boat tours that penetrate 32 miles into the Rogue River Wilderness, and some of the Pacific Northwest’s most dramatic river scenery. Gold Beach is also home to the southern Oregon Coast’s best deep-sea charter fishing fleet.
Gold Beach, OR Real Estate Market
Gold Beach offers dramatic Rogue River mouth and oceanfront properties at prices significantly below north coast markets. Oceanfront homes on Otter Point Road and north of town command premium prices. River-view properties along the lower Rogue are popular with fishing enthusiasts. Curry County’s rural character means large lots and privacy are more accessible here than anywhere on the north coast.
